We are proud to announce that Blue North Sustainability has achieved Farm Data Safe certification from Farm Data Principles, the independent, not-for-profit scheme that sets the standard for good farm data governance across the agri-food sector. The certification applies across our organisation and covers every platform and product we offer.
At the heart of the scheme is a simple principle that has long been central to how we work: your data remains your data. Through this certification, we have publicly committed to the four Farm Data Principles: that the Data Originator owns and controls their data; that we are clear about the value and benefits of data sharing; that we keep data safe; and that we make data easy to access and use.
For the farmers, retailers and consultants who work with us, this means you can be confident that your data will only be used for the purposes you have expressly agreed to. You can access, correct, export or delete your data, and any insights we develop from aggregated data, such as our industry benchmarking reports, are anonymised and never sold as personal information.
As part of the certification, our Data Handler Statement is now published on the Farm Data Principles Certified Organisations Register. This allows anyone to see exactly how we handle farm data, with every response supported by our three publicly available policies on our website. It provides clear, verifiable transparency around our approach to data governance and reflects a commitment we are proud to make.
